About the Band
Eddie Kold – Cologne’s Guitar Virtuoso
Cologne-born guitar virtuoso EDDIE KOLD learned his craft in Chicago, the world capital of the blues. In this blues mecca, he made a name for himself and performed with artists such as VANCE KELLY, ZORA YOUNG, and L.V. BANKS. Tours took him to the Montreal Jazz Fest, Winnipeg Blues Fest, and Amsterdam Blues Fest. He is likely the only German bluesman ever to perform at the Chicago Blues Festival 1991, appearing with Zora Young.
Influenced by Little Milton, Hollywood Scott, his father Buddy Scott, Buddy Guy, and Wes Montgomery, he showcases a stylistic range spanning traditional Chicago blues, soul, and jazz.

With his wireless guitar, he constantly surprises audiences—playing while lying on his back or down on his knees. A true showman who electrifies the crowd. The Badische Neueste Nachrichten wrote:

LARRY “DOC” WATKINS – The Blues Doctor
Originally from West Virginia, Larry “Doc” Watkins has lived and worked in Germany for about 20 years. In the mid‑90s, he began singing in local clubs with great success.
He loves interacting with the audience and drawing them into the show. His ventures into the crowd often lead to vocal “battles” between him and the listeners.
Stylistically, Watkins follows the Chicago greats Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf—regularly performing classics like “Mojo,” “I’m Ready,” or “Hoochie Coochie Man.” He also loves to rock the house with blues‑rock favorites such as “Hey Joe” or “Cold Shot,” which often appear on the setlist.

The EDDIE KOLD BAND is dedicated to Southern Soul, as celebrated in the blues clubs of Chicago’s South and West Side—blended with gritty blues‑rock elements and touches of jazz and soul.
The lineup is completed by drummer Ingo BARON, known for his success with Twang Unchained, and Klaus Brunschede from Düren, bassist of Brother Snakeoil.
