About the Band
DIRK KROLL composes songs that take you somewhere. The DIRK KROLL BAND delivers them. Kroll moved from Southern California to metro-Detroit at a young age with both a Sonny Rollins and an Eddie Cochran album in tow. In no time, he fell in love with the Motown sound showcasing the power of strong vocal delivery combined with fantastic melodies.
Holding several Detroit Music Award nominations and awarded Outstanding Rock Songwriter 2020, 2021 and Special Honoree 2022, Kroll creates multi-genre storied songs and fronts the DIRK KROLL BAND featuring horns, keys and blended vocal harmonies. Described as a musical architect, Kroll has been compared to Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe and Tom Petty with a "Power-pop swagger", roots-rock flavors, blues based rock and a sound all his own.
