About the Band
Dan Whitaker & The Shinebenders are a modern day honky-Tonk band from Chicago, IL. They have been entertaining audiences since 2003 with countless performances in Chicago and the Midwest. Their new CD Truck Ride delivers 16 new Dan Whitaker songs, following up their previous albums Shinebender (2006) and Your Final Ride (2004).
Shinebenders include Earl Powers on bass, Belden “Trip” Kimball on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Chase Jackson on drums.
Dan Whitaker is a long time Chicago based singer, song writer, and guitarist. Whitaker's past associations go back to the late 1980's with DeKalb IL. punk-funk group June Bug Massacre, 1990's with the Americana/blues/rock band Great Plains Gypsies, 2000's with Chicago jam-rockers The Gyps and the Americana/rock band Western Grand.
