About the Band
On a cold winter day near Woodstock, New York at the renowned Dreamland Recording Studios, David Gelman assembled an ensemble of stellar musicians to record his third album, “Last Surviving Son.”
The warm and open acoustics of Dreamland Recording Studios provided the ideal stage for the group that includes musicians such as Ann Klein (Ani DiFranco, Darden Smith), Lorenza Ponce (Bon Jovi, Adele, Katy Perry, Neil Young), Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, Paul McCartney, John Mayer) and the production talents of Tim Hatfield (Damnwells, Death Cab for Cuties, Steve Earle, Marshall Crenshaw). The combination of these skilled musicians and the idyllic setting produced the moving, soulful and often haunting melodies of David’s songwriting in a way that exceeded all expectations.
“Last Surviving Son” is a pinnacle of achievement for the New York-born and raised Gelman. The music and lyrics in this album so masterfully performed and produced sets a new bar for the music of this genre.
