Review of Album Stronger Than Strong

Eschewing the horns & strings that appeared on 2017’s Feelin’ Freaky, John Nemeth opts for a stripped-down sound this go-around, maxing out his four-piece band’s potential for energy and versatility.  Much of the latter can be credited to this West Coast-to-Memphis transplant’s songwriting skills- from primal blues run-throughs- “Come And Take It”, “Fountain Of A Man” to sharp-minded and soulful lyric sets- “Chain Breaker”, “Deprivin’ A Love” and “Bars”. The constant focus is, of course, the man’s assertive vocals and rock-solid harp work.
