The continuously graceful character that inhabits “Mean” Mary James’ vocal, lyrical and instrumental work is in full evidence on her current offering, whether the Nashville-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist treads upon light or weighty emotional turf.  And her singularly articulate banjo play is evidenced even its most minimal expressions, as on “Sparrow Alone” here.  Other tracks of note on a most charming set include “Big Tour Bus”, “I Can Be Brave” and “What About Today?”
