Review of Album Bayou Liberty

Just as the listener is primed to take in a set of blues-with-attitude, singer/songwriter/instrumentalst Tiffany Pollock throws a curve with a disarming country track, signaling that genre lines will be crossed and moods will vary; the constants being the strength of Ms. Pollack’s delivery and the appeal of John Nemeth’s retro-slanted production.  The wry, good-timey “Crawfish and Beer”, the precocious “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” and the starkly un-sentimental “Colors” are all standouts but the country ballad “Baby Boys” may be the surprise track here.  Nice work.
