Alongside convincing vocals and fretwork, Mississippi MacDonald scores a bona fide blues hat-trick by way of his punchy, pungent and extremely genre-savvy lyrics.  The London-based vocalist/guitarist exudes authority on all three fronts, backed here by solid, simpatico production. A reworking of Denise LaSalle’s  “Your [Wife] Is Cheating On Us” provides a nice sendoff to a set including standout originals “I Heard It Twice”, “It Can’t Hurt Me” and “That’s It I Quit”.  Nice work!
