Review of Album This is the Blues

Self-proclaimed “Mississippi Queen” vocalist Sheba Beck serves up deep-dish Southern blues with power and old-school savvy. The Mississippi-born, Florida-based Ms. Beck transfers these qualities to songwriting as well-  the slow blues “No Good Ugly Man” provides reason alone for searching out this set.  Other gems include “I’m Through With You”, “Lied To Me” and “Freakish Blues”.
