Review of Album Highs & Lows

Bernard Allison encases his fretboard prowess within a markedly fresh and varied set highlighted by some particularly personal sounding lyric sets.  The sly rocker that is the title track bears this out as does the moody, minor-keyed “Strain On My Heart”.  Guest shots from Colin James- a straight blues “My Way Or The Highway” and Bobby Rush- the sassy funk track “Hustler” are attention-worthy as well.
