To the surprise of no one familiar with her work, Vaneese Thomas delivers with focused power and convincing emotion throughout a new original set, taking on a wide spectrum of feelings and observations.  From the apocalyptic leadoff track, “Raise The Alarm”, to the inspirational title track- with a few mood changes in between- Ms. T.’s delivery justifies her placement in the top tier of present-day soul vocalists. Other tracks of note include “’Til I See You Again”, “He’s A Winner” and the most-appropriately titled “Blue”.  This set will be worth recalling when contemplating “Best Of” lists at year’s end.
