Review of Album Bitches Blues

Sass Jordan’s fiery presence once again clears out space on some well-known material to claim a piece of them for herself.  As she did on 2020’s Rebel Moon Blues, the Brit-born, Montreal-bred vocalist tears into a most suitable song list, this time including Rick Derringer’s “Still Alive and Well”,  Mississippi Fred McDowell’s “You Gotta Move” and a particularly inspired-sounding take on Lowell George’s “Sailin’ Shoes”.  The backup band smokes throughout.
