Review of Album Demon Blues

The spirit of early psychedelia breathes anew in the words and sounds of this Aussie four-piece.  And even when the lyrics are less than ethereal, as on “You Ain’t No Friend Of Mine”, the guitar tandem of Dom Mariani and Greg Hitchcock deal out one of a number of extended, pot-scented romps.  Bass and drums are sufficiently primitive and insistent throughout. The harmonies on “Another Planet” evoke the psych-era Byrds.  Other standouts include “Journey Home” and “Killjoy”.
