Like a slightly tipsy skating duo, Janet Bean’s and Catherine Irwin’s collective vocals glide angularly against a mesmerizing backdrop weave of traditional and modern sounds, creating a captivating realm of Appalachian–noir; the better to focus on their enigmatic, frequently quirky lyric sets.  Standouts in this engaging set include “What The People Want”, “Bolshevik and Bollweevil” and “Number One with a Bullet”.
