Review of Album Monkey Brain

 

Power, drive and gobs of style- & more of that last quality than one expects from such a stripped-to-the-bone blues-rock sound- are the key components of Sean Pinchin’s work. The Toronto-born guitarist lays out track after track built from masterfully infectious riffs and syncs them up with lyric sets as smart as one might hear from a top-notch pop songsmith. And for frosting on the cake there’s Mr. Pinchin’s razor-sharp slide work. Standouts in a solid, solid set include “Living In The Past”, “Goin’ Hobo” and the monster title track.
