Review of Album Say That Now

Emotional turmoil, mostly of the romantic variety, is the primary stuff of Ana Egge’s lyrics.  This strife is more than palatable delivered in the North Dakota-bred singer/songwriter’s light but sturdy vocal style and wrapped in a weave of folk/country roots and subtly stylish small-group pop.  The title track is joined by “Take Off My Dress” and “Spider” as standout tracks.  Band member MC Hansen steals a scene with a solid folk-rocker, “Still Waters Run Deep”.
