Review of Album Old School

Si Cranstoun brings a here-and-now freshness and energy to ‘50’s/early 60’s rock and roll sounds.  The British singer/multi-instrumentalist displays a particular partiality for the melodic pop influences that found their way into early rock with catchy tracks such as “Vegas Baby” and  “Thames River Song” and delivers solidly when working vintage ballad styles on “Nighttime” and “Right Girl”. The Brian Setzer-ish “Run Free” and the smokin’ title track are attention-worthy as well.
