Review of Album Live at Blues on the Chippewa

With regard to tightness, drive and solid front-line instrumental play, the Mark Cameron Band is the virtual textbook definition of “blues band”.  With the basics covered, this Minneapolis-based outfit separates itself from the journeyman pack via the exceptionally fresh original song fare courtesy of leader/guitarist/lead vocalist Cameron.  The “up” fare in particular stands out, including the tracks “Doctor in the House”, “Mojo Shuffle” and the sly, wry “Dicey”.
