Review of Album American Mojo

Much more country than the classic r&b that put Muscle Shoals on the map, Robert Cline Jr.’s backup here includes session heavyweights from that legendary town, providing sterling support to the singer/guitarist’s true-to-the-roots set list.  Time-tested themes are well articulated and plentiful on tracks including “Honky Tonk Honeymoon”, “Granddaddy” and “Leaving This Town”. A platoon of lead guitarists- Gary Nichols, Kelvin Holly and Will McFarlane- serve up nice-and-nasty work throughout.
