Review of Album Trip Around the Sun

The psychedelic pop harmonics of The Grip Weeds splendidly evoke the kindred sounds of first-gen psych outfits such as The Strawberry Alarm Clock and a dozen or four obscure one-hit wonders found on various Nuggets compilations.  The Jersey-based four-piece family band fortifies their vocal charm with very genre-savvy lyric sets.  Standouts include “Vibrations”, “I Like Her” and “Mr. Nervous”.
