This Northeastern trio purveys in blues in the here-and-now.  Blues that’s bumped up against all sorts of other sounds- one couldn’t be blamed for catching a hint of Zappa in a particular melody, or sense a flash of George Clinton-esque aura someplace else- but still the blues at its attitudinal core. Both material and vocals here are jammed to the gills with personality and presence, and the instrumental play is decidedly un-shabby. Along with the title track, “Diamonds”, “Darkest Before Dawn” and “Drawers” stand out.
