Japanese emigres Satoru Nakagawa and Yukiko Fujii approach the blues from decidedly esoteric angles, lyrically resembling art-rock more often than Willie Dixon and instrumentally rubbing up against psychedelia more often than the Delta.  What, on paper, may seem a conflict is actually engaging stuff much of the time.  In addition to the title track “Flowing Water” “Mystery Man” and “Reprobates, Tramps and Saints” stand out.
