If, as it’s been said, soul and gospel are joined at the hip, the Kansas City-based Ms. Hunt’s work here resides at the juncture.  Lyrics of a consistently positive, warm-hearted nature are delivered in the pianist/songwriter’s attractively underplayed, decidedly soulful vocals.  Solid session backup is highlighted by vocal choruses courtesy of the sensational McCrary Sisters.
