Matt Patershuk shows strong old-school country bona fides, vocally and lyrically, on originals such as “Alberta Waltz”, “Walkin”, “Let’s Give This Bottle A Black Eye” and the leadoff track, “The Blues Don’t Bother Me”.  In addition, the Alberta-based singer/guitarist changes up with the markedly Springsteen-like reminiscence, “Circus”, and serves up a solid run-through of the Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter gem “Sugaree”. Session backup is superb.
